Some of those names were familiar, especially Wayne's band, the Rockin Rogues. 1965 was my final year of high school, and one of my classmates was Tony Asciak, the Rogues rhythm guitarist. Their bassist Roy Shipway was in another final-year class. These guys were partly responsible for inspiring the formation of Me'n'Mine - they were in a working band when we were just dreaming about it.
Their lead guitarist Wayne "Spooky" Rountree was a guitar legend in those days, although he eventually switched to bass which he still plays. I used to fill in for him and eventually replaced him in another of Wayne's bands, Gopher Broke.
I've also worked with another of the Torquays, Bob Jones, who is in Wayne's current band, the Blues Busters, along with ex-Flake Billy Taylor and John Russell.
