DRUMMERS GETTING UNDUE ATTENTION

OR ARE THEY? I WORK WITH A YOUNG GUY, YES YOU GUESSED IT, ANOTHER DRUMMER . I WAS TALKING TO HIM ABOUT HIS KIT. (WHAT ELSE?) HE WAS TELLING ME HE PAID 1500 FOR THE KIT, AND PROBABLY ANOTHER 2000 FOR CYMBALS. I DON'T KNOW WHY, THEY ALL PRETTY MUCH SOUND THE SAME, DON'T THEY? WHICH REMINDS ME ABOUT THE VERY FIRST BAND I EVER PLAYED IN, WHILE STILL AT SCHOOL. THE DRUMMER WAS FRED LAPPIN, HE WAS THE DRUMMER BECAUSE HE WAS THE ONLY BLOKE I KNEW WITH A DRUM KIT. HE WAS A GOOD BLOKE, A MAD STONES FAN; ALL HE COULD PLAY TO WAS "GET OFF MY CLOUD", SO IT DIDN'T MATTER WHAT WE WERE TRYING TO PLAY, IT ALL ENDED UP SOUNDING LIKE GET OFF MY CLOUD.

on drummers ... "if you have a kick-ass drummer, you have the the potential to have a great band. if your drummer sucks, there is no hope." chris clermont

that's what my husband says about drummers. we chicks (or 'the listener') just feel the groove ... if the drummer can play it, the music will move you, if he can't, it dies before it gets beyond the monitors.

drummer, the most important seat in the house!
