ROBBIE WILLIAMS IS TRYING TO PHONE HOME

Robbie Williams is hunting for underwater aliens on a jet ski.

The reclusive pop star is hoping to spot USOs, or Unidentified Submerged Objects, which have been spotted in the waters of Malibu, off the coast of California.

Robbie is quoted as saying: "I heard of these sightings at Malibu of things going into the water. I thought it would be quite exciting to be on a very small object very high over the ocean floor, knowing there might be something down there.

"We're renting some jet skis and going from Marina Del Ray to the island of Catalina."

Robbie - who claims to have had three alien encounters during his life - also revealed his interest in the supernatural comes from his mother.

He added: "I was raised in a house where my mum was very much into Tarot cards. She did readings and consulted psychics. I've been around all kinds of myths and legends, I've been actively encouraged to indulge in this kind of stuff and I've been interested in it for a very long time."

Robbie, 34, has also converted his girlfriend, American actress Ayda Field, into believing in extraterrestrial life.

Ayda, 29, said: "It has changed my perspective on the world. Once you're exposed to it, it's impossible to go back to thinking about things in the same way."

Robbie has reportedly camped at a number of UFO hotspots over the course of this year, in his bid to uncover extraterrestrial life.

He has talked of one alien encounter when a "square thing" passed 300 feet above his head while he relaxed on a sun lounger at the Beverley Hills hotel in California. Another was in a California studio while he was playing a song he wrote about alien contact called Arizona.

In September, Michael C. Luckman - the director of the New York Centre for Extraterrestrial Research - said he believed Robbie was a "point man" for aliens and could be abducted at any time.
