NOT ANY SORT OF GEEK, A TRAIN GEEK. I LOVE TRAINS. THERE, I'VE SAID IT, I'VE COME OUT. IT ALL STARTED IN MY CHILDHOOD, WHEN THERE WERE STEAM TRAINS. I LOVED RIDING THEM, I LOVED THE SMELL OF THE SMOKE AND STEAM, I LOVED THEIR POWER.
I HAD MODEL TRAINS TOO, AND PLAYED WITH THEM UNTIL I DISCOVERED GIRLS.
RECENTLY, MY FATHER, WHO THROWS NOTHING AWAY, PULLED OUT MY ORIGINAL "O" SCALE LOCOS, STILL IN PRISTINE CONDITION 50 SOMETHING YEARS LATER. THE BUG BIT AGAIN, I SCOURED EBAY FOR TRACK AND TRANSFORMERS AND ROLLING STOCK AND NOW I'M PLANNING TO INCORPORATE A LARGE TRAIN LAYOUT IN THE RECORDING STUDIO. HOW GEEKY CAN YOU GET?
BELOW ARE MY SAKAI EB CLASS LOCOS FROM CIRCA 1953. THESE BEAUTIFUL TINPLATE ENGINES WERE MADE IN POST WAR JAPAN AND WERE MODELLED ON REAL LOCOS INTRODUCED IN THE 1930'S. I HAVE JUST FOUND THE ORIGINAL CARS TO GO WITH THEM ON EBAY U.S. FOR ONLY $22.50!
ROD STEWART IS A MAJOR MODEL TRAIN GEEK, WITH ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING LAYOUTS IN THE WORLD.
FORMER FLYING CIRCUS GUITARIST, JAMES WYNNE, HAS BEEN A PAINTER OF TRAIN SCENES FOR MANY YEARS, ABOVE ARE TWO OF HIS BEAUTIFUL WORKS.

Me too Dave. I have the same fascination for railways, especially steam. My wife took me on a surprise outing a few months ago, boat to Wollongong and return to Sydney on a train hauled by 3642. I have a 4m x 1m N-gauge layout (built on two doors) hanging from my shed roof. I haven't done anything to it for years, saving it for "when I retire". Although I've retired from work, I haven't retired enough to resume work on the layout. More's the pity.
I hate trains. They drive me loco! My reasons are many and varied. However without them I'd be working in another area. Hmm....thinking...
Oh ok, I like playing with model trains. (just like Gomez Adams Heh Heh)..
...The (non) Gunzel (ie train tragic).
toot toot...
Hi Dave,
Love the train painting - excellent. A muso friend from the old days Mick McCormack (Sect) builds model trains.
