THE BEATELS

HAD A GREAT NIGHT AT MY LOCAL CLUB TONIGHT, WATCHING THE "BEATELS", A GREAT TRIBUTE BAND. THEY PLAYED THE SAME INSTRUMENTS AND AMPLIFIERS, PROVIDED SOME GOOD SOUNDING MIDI BACKING TO THE SECOND SET AND GENERALLY LOOKED THE PART WITH THE UNIFORMS.

These guys are just awesome, I've been to their show several times over the last couple of years. I also did a pub gig with the Ian Francis Band a while back - Ian often works with one or two Beatels at his Sunday pub gigs. The drummer that day was Neil Rankin of the Beatels. Neil was quite pleased when I told him how much his Ringo toms and fills contributed to the authenticity of The Beatels' sound, he told me he was sick of people saying how Ringo was not much of a drummer.
I only have one nitpick - I reckon my Melanie plays the Lady Madonna piano riff heaps better than The Beatels midi sequence.
