ME'N'MINE

IT HAS BEEN AN OVERSIGHT THAT I HAVE FORGOTTEN TO BRING TO YOUR ATTENTION THE WEB SITE OF "ME'N'MINE", A GROUP FROM THE 60'S THAT PLAYED AROUND THE SOUTH WEST SUBURBS OF SYDNEY, DOING A LOT OF CYO DANCES.
THERE IS A WEB SITE, www.dcomo.com/Me'n'Mine/ . Please check it out. In particular, please read the beautiful diary of the band's fan club president. This is a lovely site, with very touching memories and imagery from the mid 60's. Rob Askew and Jimmy Penson Both x Flake were in this group. As I have mentioned in other entries, Jimmy Penson was also the drummer in Blackfeather. Sadly, Jimmy died in a car accident in the early 80's.

Thanks Dave for including us in your historical narrative. Me 'n' Mine never made it big in the record scene, but we did do many gigs almost continuously for a couple of years, more than can be claimed by most other bands under the age of 20.

Hi Dave

Rob Askew directed me to you and I wanted to thank you for your comments about "Eileen's Diary"!

I kept that diary all the time I was the fan club President for Me 'n' Mine and it's reproduced word-for-word, warts and all - except for a few personal items I thought it diplomatic to leave out!

The were great days and the guys were like my brothers.

Remember the sleazy "Beverley Hills School of Arts" - top venue, huh?

I dobbed you in Dave to the author of the diary, and by a strange coincidence she was on TV this morning. Having graduated from Me'n'Mine to Sir Cliff, Eileen is now a rabid Donny Osmond fan and was in the studio audience for his appearance on the channel 9 morning show today (she took leave from her job and travelled up from Canberra). I believe she will be attending almost ALL of his east coast concerts.
